Hello! This summer, like the last, I am excited about being a part of Child Evangelism Fellowship's summer ministry as a summer missionary. Child Evangelism Fellowship, CEF, is an outreach to Hawaii's keiki who do and do not know Christ. CEF uses christian teens from around Hawaii to tell young children about Jesus Christ, train them to serve Him, and maybe even, if they so desire, help them accept Christ as their personal lord and savior.

CEF has 3 different tracks in which the gospel is presented different ways. The 13-14 year-olds, or associates, minister to the children through various methods of entertainment. Last year, the associates (which I was then apart of) learned to teach with mime presentations, which was really fun for both the associates and the kids. This year, they are using magic and illusions to minister to the children. The older teens, or CYIAs, minister to the children through 5-day clubs and sometimes help out with day camps. This track is the one who normally are the 'teachers' of the children. Finally, there is the Leadership track. The leadership track is meant for the older CYIAs who have been working with CEF for at least 2 years. The leadership track mentors the newer associates and CYIAs, showing them how to efficiently run a club, daycamp, etc. To the children, this track also plays a role as a model of an adult who loves God. This way, the children can see how God is affecting this track and make them crave for the same relationship with Him.

This year, I am participating in the CYIA track. The CYIA track challenges me to develop teaching skills, classroom management, friendships with the children, and most importantly, a growing relationship with Christ. Because of the rigourous schedule in plan for me, I know that this summer, I am basically going to school without actually going to summer school. So much for summer... Nah. I've heard that the CYIA track is actually very fun, even in spite of the heavy work load, (which can probably equal my school's load for one of the harder classes). Throughout the summer, I will be working with my partners (This is according to one of the staff, but it might change): Gabe, Hannah, Christa, and maybe even Gab (yes, it's spelled right) to tell about the Lord Jesus Christ through songs, stories, and games.

Though we are doing good* things for the Lord, we have someone who is trying to tear me and my colleagues down. He obviously doesn't want us doing this, so he uses doubt, fear, and really-hot tobbasco sauce (I'll blog about it later). I'm telling you this so that I may ask you this question: Will you pray for me during this summer for guidance and wisdom as I teach these kids about Christ?

This ministry isn't free. I humbly ask you to, if you are able to, for some financial support as well as spiritual help. There are many ways that your financial support can help me. The most obvious cause, is to help pay for the training costs. My point is, most of the training tools that I recieve/buy are not free, so I would like some help.
